Humanitarian Law Center Kosovo is currently seeking a Finance Officer to join its team in Pristina. The overall objective of this position will be the budget preparations, grants management and accounting services of HLC Kosovo, under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.
Position: Finance Officer
Agreement type: Full-contract with a probation period of three months
Duration: 1 year with an extension possibility
Location: Pristina
Responsibilities:
- Developing, maintaining, and monitoring project plans, project schedules, budgets, cash flow, and expenditures related to HLC Kosovo
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting, planning process, and reporting and comparison of actual to planned budgets and expenses
- Perform deep analysis to develop recommendations and impact the financial management decision making
- Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and forecast processes based on projects
- Reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions; and reporting these on monthly basis to the Executive Director
- Bank payments such as, invoices, salaries, rent, taxes, pension contributions and other transactions as needed
- Preparation of procurements according to the procurements of the NGO policies and sometimes donor policies
- Identifying auditors to carry out year-end financial audits, making sure that auditors have all of the information required for a complete audit and supporting the auditors during the audit
- Preparation of the financial statements
- Preparation of the actual financial reports for the Board Members
- Reviews and implements financial regulations and legislation applied in the country
Required skills and qualifications:
- Advanced Bachelor's / Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Professional qualification as a Certified Accountant in SCAAK or similar will be considered a plus
- Knowledge of all laws and legal regulations related to the NGO’s finances and accounting
- 3+ years of managerial work experience in finance and accounting
- Organizational skills and experience in leadership and management with employees
- Strong communication, presentation and problem solving skills
- Computer skills
- Knowledge of accounting software QuickBooks
- Knowledge of the English language, knowledge of Serbian language is a plus
