We are pleased to launch our hybrid training program, which begins on Monday (09.03.2026). The Training Programme on Memorialization and Dealing with the Past will open with the first lecture by Refik Hodžić, as part of Module 1: Introduction to Transitional Justice and Memorialization: Theoretical, Conceptual, and Ethical Foundations. Refik will speak about ‘Transitional Justice in Today’s World’.
We are honored to have a distinguished lineup of professionals to lead this programme. Our lectures will be led by renowned experts and practitioners, including Dr. Sharon Macdonald, Dr. Alice Semedo, Nol Binakaj, Dr. Amra Hadžimuhamedović, Dr. Elisabetta Terragni, Paula Solimano, Ognjen Glavonić, and Sislej Xhafa.
This initiative is designed as a capacity-building and knowledge-exchange platform addressing memorialization and practices of dealing with the past in post-conflict societies, with a particular focus on the Western Balkans. The programme is structured in two interconnected parts:
The first part consists of four core online modules providing a conceptual, ethical, and practice-oriented foundation in memorialization. These modules will be delivered online during March–April 2026.
The second part focuses on experiential learning through study visits and workshops at sites of memory, fostering direct engagement with local practices, institutions, and communities.
For all those interested in attending the online lectures, please express your interest via email at [email protected], and we will send you the link.
