Initial hearing held against Skender Bislimi accused for war crimes in Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje

Basic Court in Pristina, on 28 April 2017 held the initial hearing against Skender Bislimi accused for war crime against civilian population, committed in Kosovo. The indictment was raised by EULEX Prosecutor Charles Hardaway, on 4 January 2017, while the trial is being led by local Judge Arben Hoti.

The accused Skender Bislimi was arrested on 30 July 2016 in Bosna and Hercegovina, pursuant to an international arrest warrant. He is accused that on 26 March 1999, in Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje, at the Bus Station, in collaboration with at least ten other known and unknown person the member of Serbian armed forces, had violated body integrity and health of more than 40 civilian Kosovo Albanian men, exercised intimidation and terror, and performed illegal arrests and hostage taking, including victim Haki Bajrami. The body of the victim Haki Bajrami was found in a mass grave in Dragodan neighborhood in the Municipality of Prishtinës/Priština, and was identified on 17 August 2000.

Relating the same incident, on 24 March 2015, by final judgment was sentenced Serbian police reservist Ivan Radivojevic, who while serving a prison sentence, had died of natural death.
